HEY
Thanks for stopping by!
This is a long-time dream of mine — launching a blog — and we’re finally here! I’ve always wanted to write about fitness, health, and nutrition — especially all those things when they relate to triathlon.
The goal is to take the things I’ve learned (and will learn) and share them with anyone who might need a lil’ help.
Why am I qualified to write a blog about triathlon and healthy things?
Well — I’m a certified triathlon coach. That’s not really enough though.
I’ve focused on health and fitness for most of my life. I’ve been an athlete since I could walk (anyone else do mommy ‘n’ me gymnastics?).
There’s so much to learn about health and fitness; I spend literally all of my free time thinking, reading, or Doing Things related to fitness, health, and wellness.
I’m currently studying to become a holistic health coach. I train, travel, and occasionally live with with my husband’s team of elite triathletes.
tldr; I know a lot of the things and I’m always learning more.
So – why well & pine?
It took a long time to decide on a name for this site (like, a Really Long Time™).
Ultimately, well & pine is a few things: Wellness, of course. But also – a well provides water, an essential element of life. That’s how I think about holistic wellness. Life sucks when you’re unwell.
Pine is… just a thing.
Yes, it’s green. Yes, I’ll cover eco-friendly living and the importance of being outdoors, but pine trees also represent home.
My childhood home in Massachusetts is surrounded by white pine and spruce that my parents planted. My current home in New Hampshire is nestled among pine trees. Hiking up trails dotted with pines are some of my most beloved memories.
So, pine is a feeling: Comfort, fresh air, and a sense of freedom and stillness.
Ok — what are we gonna talk about?
Triathlon, of course.
But also other stuff — healthy food, habits, sustainability. Holistic wellness.
And I promise I’ll keep it real: I’ll tell you when things are anecdotal. If I say it’s factual, I’ll back it up with a peer-reviewed study. I’ll let you know about any affiliate work I do, and I’ll try to provide some discounts or benefits along the way (if I can — that’d be dope).
Lastly, feel free to engage. Leave comments, ask questions, let me know if there’s something I should write about or reconsider.
Thanks for coming! Hope to see ya again soon 🥰
